We asked Isaias Quiroz, Texas Rangers, to share his perspective on the power of coaches as mentors. Here’s his take.
I think what you can expect when a coach mentors an athlete is a lot of growth. I am very fortunate to have a couple mentors in my life that keep pushing me every day and keep helping me strive to be the best me I can be.
“I’m very fortunate to have mentors in my life. The biggest thing for me is learning from them…That helps me day in and day out, so that I am always ready and prepared…” – Isaias Quiroz
The biggest thing for me is learning from them and they share their experiences with me. That helps me day in and day out so that I am always prepared to face anything I have that day. The game of baseball is a crazy game and life is a crazy game. Everything that they teach me, I always have in the back of my mind so that I am always prepared and never caught off guard. I thank them for what they have taught me.
